The RARE Experience has evolved into a powerful Systems Simulation—an interactive and immersive journey that explores the complex realities of life after system involvement. At the core of this experience is our Reentry Model, the foundational simulation that guides participants through the critical first month post-release. From securing identification and employment to navigating supervision requirements and basic needs, this model lays the groundwork for understanding the systemic challenges justice-impacted individuals face.

Building on that foundation, participants have the opportunity to expand their experience by incorporating additional, interconnected models: Mental Health, Immigration, Family Balancing Act, and Housing Insecurities. Each model offers a deeper dive into the specific systems that frequently intersect with reentry, illustrating how layered and compounding these barriers can become.

Facilitated by professionals with lived experience, this simulation promotes empathy, insight, and systems-level thinking. It equips organizations, practitioners, and community members with a richer understanding of how fragmented services impact real lives—and how holistic, collaborative approaches can foster sustainable change.
